Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup milk instead of dairy, use almond or coconut milk
  • 1/4 Teaspoon mint extract or Shamrock extract, if available
  • Several drops of green food colouring for the traditional green shake colour
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Cherry for garnish

Method
 

  1. Mix the milk, vanilla ice cream, and mint extract.
  2. To give it that distinctive green colour, add a few drops of green food colouring.
  3. Please blend the ice cream with the milk and mint flavour well by blending until it is smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the mixture into a tall glass, leaving room at the top for a generous dollop of whipped cream.
  5. Cover with whipped cream, and add a cherry as a decoration.
  6. Add toppings like crushed Oreos for a fun twist, making it an Oreo Shamrock Shake recipe.
  7. If you want a little more mature taste, add Baileys Irish Cream to make it an alcoholic Shamrock Shake.
  8. If you're looking for a less healthy version, you could always use low-fat ice cream, stevia instead of sugar, or even unsweetened almond milk to cut some sugar.
