Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk or evaporated milk if you want a richer flavour
  • 1-2 table spoons grated fresh ginger root
  • Honey or brown sugar to taste
  • Tea leaves or tea bag optional

Method
 

  1. Peel, slice, or grate the ginger root.
  2. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Put the ginger in there.
  3. Boil for 5-10 minutes to let the liquid release the flavour of the ginger.
  4. Steep for a further two minutes after adding the tea leaves or bag.
  5. Add milk and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Strain the liquid into a cup.
  7. It is ready when you add honey or brown sugar to taste.
